The " Folies Bergère" was a famous Parisian cabaret, known for its music hall and revue shows, which was founded in 1869 by the entrepreneur and composer Joseph Oller and which was an emblematic place of the Parisian cultural scene. Located in the Pigalle district of Paris, Folies Bergère first began as a small concert café offering musical acts and burlesque shows. However, over time, the place evolved to accommodate a variety of artistic performances , from dance and song revues to acrobatic and comedy numbers.

Poster Vintage's opinion : It was in 1891 that Boxing issues between Humans and Kangaroos appeared in Australia (Jack, the boxing kangaroo) then in the United States. The practice then spread across Europe, particularly in France to the Folies-Bergère. The discipline, however, ran out of steam quite quickly as the public ended up noticing that the animal was defending itself more than it was really boxing.
