In 1890, Pierre-Victor Besse and François Trépier created the Société La Française in Paris, a manufacturer of velocipedes and spare parts. The Frenchwoman also manufactured motorcycles and cars. The brand's emblem is the Diamond (present on the logo). La Française remained a very popular brand in France until 1955, winning numerous cycling awards and trophies.
